I recently completed my Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Fiction from Sarah Lawrence College, New York. At Sarah Lawrence College, I undertook a deep study of American, Asian, and English literature along with the craft of writing. This program is a degree in teaching English, Literature and Writing. It also focuses on building person-specific learning.
I have worked with State University of New York in Purchase. I co-taught College Writing to first-year students and mentored students in the process of researching and writing formal papers. As a part of this internship, I attended Teaching Good Prose classes and developed a strong yet eclectic theoretical orientation of reading and writing and learned the ways to translate these theories into practice. All students learn differently and I was taught to use a variety of pedagogues to help students learn. I conducted weekly writing workshops for high school students at Yonkers Montessori Academy in New York. I have dabbled in journalism, content creation, teaching and copy writing. As a writer, I like to tell stories that engage the reader—no matter how limited the platform is. My strength is my experience derived from working full-time for organizations like Flipkart, Hindustan Times, DNA, Magna Publications based in India. I have covered multiple beats—food, community service, travel, campus, and homes. I also have volunteer writing experience for Pratham USA based in New York.
