What are the best books for learning programming languages like C (except let us C), Java, Python, etc.?

Head First Java ....But u should also refer to the online free course on udacity, coursera ....Etc...Best way is to write program solve problems

Why do we use static keywords in Java?

You need to understand the static vs normal ... I think if you are beginning then first you should learn c and then Python.....

Is there a way to synchronize threads in Java aside using synchronized blocks?

Yes you can synchronized a method... like public synchronized void critial() { // some thread critical stuff // here } Also you can use volatile key word before a variable, this will ensure that the value of the variable is upto date..
