In recent years, we have witnessed a massive demand for data scientists in the market. There are specific must-have skills to become a data scientist. First one is education. A strong educational background is required; in fact, data scientists are one of the highly educated professionals. As per a report, 88% of data scientists have at least a Master’s degree. Other skills include R programming, Machine Learning, SQL coding, Attention to detail, Data visualization, Python coding, Business acumen, strong communication skills. Coming back to your question, the starting salary for a data scientist fresher is around 6 lakh per annum. However, you need to understand that the salary package may vary from company to company, and as per your skills. Since we’re talking about a data scientist with no job experience, let’s face the bitter reality. Even though there is a massive demand for data scientists, many freshers find it hard to get a job since not every company hire data scientist freshers. This job is research-oriented, and companies are looking for experienced data scientists with immense knowledge of working with data-driven models.
