To become a successful data scientist, you need to have specific knowledge (both theoretical and practical), skills and experience. Besides the Python, R and SQL programming languages knowledge, you’ll have to possess several skills such as mathematics, data visualisation, statistics, big data, data ingestion, machine learning (advanced machine learning) and more. Moreover, it is exceptionally crucial to master the fundamentals of data science. Thus, becoming a data scientist in 6 months of self-study is quite tough as there are many skills that you must possess. If you really want to pursue your career as a data scientist then, the best thing you could do for yourself is to join a quality data scientist course.
