Jive and rock 'n' roll are distinct swing dances. Jive is faster, with triple steps and kicks, while rock 'n' roll has simpler footwork and acrobatics. Jive is formal and competitive, often in ballroom settings, while rock 'n' roll is freer and more social, emphasizing expression and creativity.
