Bollywood Choreographer, dance & fitness trainer, 10 years of experience. Professionally trained.

For a 5-year-old, both fun time and techniques are important. So any classical form, i.e. Indian/western with some fun Choreography classes.

2yrs experience in dance nd music vocal

Hi!If your child is interested in dance, you should try playing different types of songs, and see what interests him more. Based on that, you can make a decision. Also, it is the right time to start because at this age, a child's grasping power is fantastic, and he would learn with ease.

Starting with classical dance like Kathak, Bharatnatyam etc. would help her perform or learn every type of dance in the future.

If you want him to learn Dance, then this is the best time for teaching him dance because perfection in dance comes with time, and in this time he can make ourselves flexible as much as he can & he can give time passionately. Good luck!

First, be sure that your son is interested in dancing. If the answer is yes, find an appropriate dance guru for your kid who can help you understand which dance form is the best for your kid. If you are unable to find a guru, let your kid start with any format you want. But make sure wherever you enrol him in, the focus should be on body strengthening and flexibility. It is because as a kid, he must be having an amazing flexible body. If your kid keeps practising on body strengthening and flexibility, it will help him learn any form. Let him learn whatever he likes, and when your kid grows older, he will find out by himself which forte he belongs to. Just make sure you give him options and let him choose and change according to his wish and comfort don't force anything. read less
