What is safe - If you force computer to go off without closing all running process,application and services. Any of them can stuck or crash than and there. Also, if anything was open and not saved you will lose it. So now, depends, why you are doing it.... if there is any emergency - just turn it off...

Also, if anything was open and not saved you will lose it. As Abhijeet and Prinkal says start with basic computer skills related to your field. I hope Tally and more other softwares are there for your fields. Else if you are in need to away from your field then go with Android/ Web designing/ Game developer.
