Between the three strikes there are 2 intervals, which are each 1.5 seconds long. To strike seven there are 6 intervals. So it will take total 6*1.5 = 9 seconds for seven strikes.

To strike three times the clock has to make three sounds bong-bong-bong. Total time for the three bongs are 3 seconds. between two bongs there is a time interval and thus for striking three times the clock has to complete two time intervals plus the bong. Hence time interval for each 'dash' is 3/2 =...

Total time for the three bongs are 3 seconds. between two bongs there is a time interval and thus for striking three times the clock has to complete two time intervals plus the bong. Hence time interval for each 'dash' is 3/2 = 1.5 seconds. Now to strike seven times the clock has to do Bong-bong-bong-bong-bong-bong-bong - and there are 6 time intervals or dashes inbetween. we have earlier seen the time taken for one time interval is 1.5 seconds and hence the time for 6 time intervals is = 6*1.5 = 9 seconds. So the time taken for the clock to strike seven is 9 seconds. read less
