In compounds the elements are jointed by bond & they depends upon each other but In mixture elements are not jointed by bond & they are from each. Just like air.

The basic difference between compound and mixture is, in compound 2 or more chemically reacted material mix with each other in a chemical reaction. But in mixture chemical reaction not takes place.

Compounds have fixed properties. i.e compound will have fixed temperatures at which it melts and boils. where as Mixtures do not have fixed properties. depend on the nature of their components and the ratios in which they are combined.
