Because the lens of our eyes detect images from a distance.If the object is very close the lens will not be able to reflect its image in the brain and it will not be seen

we can't see the objects whose image cannot be formed on our eye's retina and objects very close to our eyes do not form image on our retina that's why we can't see them.
