As in this reaction two substances – quicklime and water combine to form a new substance, therefore, this reaction is called combination reaction. This chemical change can be represented by the given chemical equation:During this chemical change, heat is also released. Therefore, this is also an example of exothermic reaction. read less

because it is an exothermic reaction generating a significant amount of heat.

This is because the reaction between quicklime and water is very vigorous . If we add water quickly then it may splash out and damage us

1.CaO + H2O --> Ca(OH)2 (Quick laim) (Slaked laim) i.e, when water reacts with calsium oxide, water slowly get increased its temparature. if we do not pour water slowly rather directly, heated water may harm's our body if it's contacted with our body part.

Water+quick lime is an exothermic reaction. If you add too much water too soon it cause the realease of huge amount of heat/water vapour that can be dangerous inside a laboratory setup. Hence water is added slowly.

Because this reaction is an exothermic reaction... If you will pour the water at an one instant, it will release a great amount of heat by increasing temperature. So it's very harmful for everyone.
