Why does an aqueous solution of acid conduct electricity?

Pure water is a non-conductor of electricity. But by adding a little acid ir even a bit of salt, it becomes a conductor and hence it conducts electricity.

Because in aq.sol.means water+ acid so they have free ions which helps in conduction of electricity

In aqeous solution ions break into postive and negative part and we know that ions conduct electricity.... Like for example NaCl break in water Na + and Cl- it conduct electricity..

But since acids (Ph vale less than 7) consists of free H+ ions, an aqueous solotion of water would have plenty of free H+ ions (cations) as well as - anions. When a potential difference is applied to the solution through two immersed electrodes, the positive H ions are arttacted towards the cathode (the -ve electrode of the circuit) and anions to the +ve elctrode of the circuit. Thus these charges start flowing in the solution thereby conducting electricity. read less
