If we light a torch then diverging beam of light are produced. But we use concave mirror in the torch to attain parallel beam of light. So what is the connection between this?

Concave mirror is use to get focused and long distant parrallel light and this ia an application of concave mirror. As above diagram you can see the passage of parallel light comming out after reflection ,in a critical sense it can be said that law of reflection is the connection between this.

According to laws of if reflection if we put source on focus it becomes parallel to the line pass through centre of mirror and centre of curvature. It is the concept we use in torch.
