Give regular hous on a daily basis to maths and science. For rest of the subjects schedule alternate days , particular hours for each subject.

According to me, what is more important is how the time is utilized. Every child has own capabilities. The method which I suggest is give enough time to revise. Its not that complete the entire syllabus and then revise. No. That way it will be burden at the end. Follow a 14-1 or 13-2 day rule. For 14 days let him go on with the course and on 15th day, keep it for revision of whatever he had done so far. This way, he will gain in confidence and will always be in touch of entire syllabus that he has covered. Similarly 13 and 2 day rule can also be used. Now, addressing to your question directly, one should invest equal amount of time as invested in tution for self study. And private tutions should be a doubt clearing sessions and not teaching sessions. read less
