The median is the middle value in a given series. If there are 7 numbers in a given series like; 8, 7, 2, 3, 5, 2. Then to find median: (7+1)÷2 = 8÷2 = 4. And in a above given series on 4th position number is 3. So, this is median. Formula : (N+1)÷2.

It is a type of measure of central tendencies, used to measure and analyse the given observations. When grouped observations are given, we measure the median as follows: 1. Arrange the data in either ascending or descending order. Count the number of observations. If number of observations are even, take the average of middle most observations. If the number of observations are odd, take the middle most observation as the median. For grouped data: 1. Write the cumulative frequencies. 2. Find sum of all frequencies and take half of the sum. 3. Take the cumulative frequency that is just greater than half of sum of the frequencies. The class that has the required feature (just above the half of the sum of frequencies) will become the modal class. Take the values from the table and substitute in the formula to get the median. Median = L+({N/2-F}/f)*h. read less

Median is straight line which started from 1 angle to the opposite side and is divide that side into 2 equal parts Eg:- In triangle ABC, from a to draw line to opposite side as BC then this BC divides into 2 equal parts i.e., BD = CD.

{(n + 1) ÷ 2}th value, where n is the number of values in a set of data. In order to calculate the median, the data must first be ranked (sorted in ascending order). The median is the number in the middle. Median = the middle value of a set of ordered data.

Median is the middle most value arranged in ascending or descending order. If no of observation n is odd then the middle value arranged data in ascending or descending order. If number of observation n is even then find average of n/2 and (n/2+1).

The median is the middle number in a group of numbers. It's not as commonly used as the others, but it can be the best 'average' to use when you have a set of data that contains outliers.

In its absolute simplest terms, the median is the middle value of a series of values laid out in numerical order. It’s the middle point of the data set. Half of the values will be less than the median and half will be higher than the median.
