Resistance : ?l/A Resistivity ? of manganin is much greater than that of copper, therefore to keep same resistance R, for same length of wire, the manganin wire must be thicker.

See there they are both of equal length as you already have mentioned in your question. It is the manganin wire that will have a greater area of cross section compared to that of your copper wire. Cheers!
