Physics Today is a monthly magazine published by the American Institute of Physics. It publishes short review articles about current research, opinion pieces, book reviews, history of physics, and has a sizeable job posting section in the back. I am a big fan of the magazine. When I want to learn about a new research topic and I am not quite ready for the full review paper in Reviews of Modern Physics, I will search for articles published in Physics Today. I appreciate that most of the articles are presented at an introductory level, but they are generally written by physicists, so they are not rife with exaggerations as many popular media pieces are. My only gripe is that it is not open access, because this is precisely the sort of publication that might be of interest to non-specialists. read less
