Hi, I have heard some theories on this.On the basis of those theories it is both an acquired skill and a natural skill. Some people have some inborn advantages on solving the problems than others. But if he/she won't use it, it may fade away. And in the case of other people those who don't have that inborn advantage, it can be achieved by constant practice. Those people will find solving the problem difficult, tiring and boring at the beginning. But as they progress they will feel less so. Actually, pushing through such hardworks rewires a person's brain. And thus he/she can become as good as the people with inborn advantages. I have heard another interesting theory on inheritance. If one person who had poor skills (say in maths) and he struggled a lot and become good in maths, in future the child who might will born to him have a chance of having inborn advantages. So if one wants to become a master in maths or any other field, he/she should practice a lot. read less
