Let the speed of the stream be x kmph Then - = 1 Or 24(18+x-18+x) / (324-x^2) = 1 Or 24 x 2x = 324-x^2 Or x^2 +48x -324 =0 Ignoring the negative root, this gives x = 6 kmph Ans
