"Hello, how to improve my communication skills and also I need to communicate with people in English? Please suggest." in   Tuition/BA Tuition, Tuition/BA Tuition/Communicatio n for Special Needs

You may find the answer lengthy but read to the end to understand fully how to improve your communication skills and English Language skills. Let us take English Language Skills. First condition, be confident. Never be shy. Don’t have any inferiority complex. Please understand that English is neither our native language nor our mother tongue. Hence we should not be ashamed or feel shy for unable to speak in English. Indeed we should be proud to take steps towards learning a foreign language. Keep this in mind, start learning the language happily. The natural process of learning a language is listening, speaking, reading and writing. Remember this is the way we learnt our mother tongue. So start in this process. When you watch the English movies, try watching it without sub titles. Even if you don’t understand the dialogues exactly, watch a couple of times and then try to watch it with subtitles. Keep watching English channels as much as possible. Speak as much as possible in English. The reason for the lack of fluency while speaking is because of the gap between the thought process and speech process. When you try to speak in English, your mind first thinks in the language that you are comfortable with, then translates it to English, corrects and then you speak. To avoid this gap, your thought process should be in English. To get this you need to listen and read more English. For reading take whatever that you are interested in. If you take newspapers or any article that you are not interested, you will lose interest. When you don’t understand a few words DON’T go for the dictionary. Keep on reading, read twice and thrice. By this time you would have fairly guessed the meaning of that word. Now refer the dic. If you do like this you will not forget the word. Also you will know how and where to use that word. Instead if you keep looking at the dictionary for all the words while reading, you will lose the interest in reading, plus you will tend to forget the word very soon after you search for the next word. This is the gist of the methodology. I think it is already long…..for improving the communication skills and other methodology to improve your Language skills you can contact me. Dr. Nirmala
