  • Practice conversing in the language with your tutor and friends to gain confidence in sentence formations. The grammar of every language is different. Hence one needs to master it thoroughly to be able to speak well. Furthermore, when we practise regularly, we teach our brains to start thinking in the language that we speak in, instead of thinking in our mother tongue and then translating it to the conversation language.
  • The second aspect of improving our conversational skills is to learn newer words. Vocabulary plays another building block in speaking well. One needs to understand the nuances and small differences between synonyms to be able to use them well. For example, come fast and come quickly are similar in meaning. But fast is a representation of speed, and quick is a representation of time. Such differences need to be well understood so that we use appropriate terms when we speak.
  • Finally, accent and pronunciation play a pivotal role in making us professional in our way of conversation.
