It's not about hard. It is about the time you spend for taking classes and practice. If you have regular time dedicated for both the it is easy. Note that you have to learn from an expert Guru.

Carnatic Music is called as Sasthriya Sangeetham.It means it has to be learnt in a right manner from a right Guru.It is not hard if one can find a right Guru and if one can dedicate and spend real time for the practice sessions and be regular to classes and attentive.
