What is return type of getchar(), fgetc() and getc() in C?

The return type will be a character

return type of getchar(), fgetc() and getc() is int in C, so in best practice assign the returned values of these functions to an integer type variable.

All above functions of c programming will return int value (ASCII code of that particular character).
