I guess you mean Software development methodology: The process which is followed in IT Companies to completing their projects. Popularly there are two methodologies: Waterfall model and Agile Scrum Model.

there are several development methods. that is called software engineering methods. top down method, bottom up mehod, object oriented analysis and design and so on.
