the interpreter/compiler of your favorite programming language is implemented in C. So do your tools. As long as those projects alive, that means there are always demand for C developers to implement new features or to provide bug fixes. So, yeah C is not destined to die.

C language Faculty (online Classes )

I am not aware of an active effort to replace the C programming language, which means it won't die anytime soon. C, like Assembly, is a basic building block of building new platforms. C can be directly and easily compiled to Assembly and has a very close relation to how computers work.
