Field trips can provide substitute educational opportunities for children, and they can also benefit society if they include some kind of community service. Taking students on field trips gives them an opportunity to break from their daily routines and learn in a hands-on way.

Of course there are opportunities for site visits. I learnt a lot by visiting sites which give you hands-on experience and gives you a clear view on how to solve engineering problems
