Nosql is not replacing RDMS.its giving more variety ,volume, velocity, value on data. Means you can handle large scale data using big data and you can analyze data from different sources.so its complementing RDMS not replacing RDMS. its giving flat file structures which keep large raw data in flats files and also gives the capability of schema on read and analytics. So Nosql/Big data is evolution not replacement of RDMS. So hadoop will not replace RDBMS Because they are doing good with relational and transactional data. We can not replace RDMS and Data warehouse but When We mixed with relational databases then its create more powerful solution. Like giving the sql based access on big data and enabling relational and transactional data handing on nosql can do magic in industry. Now people are working for achieving this and so many things already achieved. Feel free asked more questions if Do you have any?? read less

Chiranjiv - Its a great thing that you know RDBMS. No it wont expire but you can make a smooth transition to Bigdata space since you have the basic prerequisite. Nowadyas companies dont want to spend milliions on RDBMS licensing, hence Bigdata comes into picture with thousand added benifits.
