Because traffic flow is stochastic and nonlinear, nonparametric models such as Random Forest (RF) Algorithm, Bayesian Algorithm (BA) approach, K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and Support Vector Algorithms have recently been employed in traffic flow prediction.
