I want to start vocal classes, but I am confused whether to go with a personal teacher or any institute (one to one only). I have not done with any vocal classes till now. Please suggest me what I should choose?

Initially for around 8 weeks one-to-one class and then in very small group of 3 to 4 students do good for a starter. learning others skills and shortcomings helps one to learn and adapt quickly. learning in small groups is also very enocraging and makes learnign interesting.

I don't want to learn deep hindustaani classical music. I want as much so that i can sing bollywood songs properly. Means i don't want to go with gazal and all. So is that possible in 3-4 year of regular class with regular riyaz..???

Certainly you can Gourav. Ear training, Voice stabilization and betterment of vocal dyanamics through patterned vocal excercises (paltas), Breadth control are just some of the vital factors you need to master in 2 to 3 years. Contact me for Skype or face-to-face classes.

"I am 24 years old. I want to build my career in singing. I am an untrained singer and wanted to be a playback singer. What should I do from the beginner level? Should I learn Carnatic music or something else? Please share your valuable feedback." in   Music/Vocal Music/Carnatic Singing, Performing Arts/Singing, Music/Vocal Music/Hindustani Singing, More... Bollywood Music/Vocal Music

Dear Ashish, trying and failing at 24 is not a good idea.. since you already have a solid plan to do playback. I would suggest you to train yourself with basic elements of Hindustani classical along with a lot of semi-classical stuff and other sub-genres of indian music and also folk music (if you find a versatile Guru). There 3 most essential genres to succeed in Indian playback career (no matter what language you prefer to sing in, hindi, kannada, marathi or bengali). You need to be consistent in learning, i.e., don't waste time in venturing out in forming a band, do stage shows or participate in too many competitons.. since all of these are major distractions and would eventually slow down your learning process leading you nowhere. Learning for 4 years at one stretch is a 'must' for any singer looking forward to have a successful career.

"Can we sing by listening only taal of tabla or any instrument if yes then how?" in   Music/Vocal Music/Indian Vocal Music/Indian Classical Music/Carnatic Music, Music/Instrumental Music/Indian Instrumental Music, Music/Instrumental Music/Guitar, More... Taal is the most essential element of music. You may use a Metronome or Digital Tabla (download App on your phone or iPad, or buy a Taalmala) to sing along. To begin with set the tempo to a suitable BPM and select the correct pitch and practice the Paltas recommended by your Guru and try out light songs like Bhajans or Pop (based on your style and choice of Music). You may write to me or contact for further advice.
