Social sciences attempt at an interpretative understanding of what all is social through scientific concepts and techniques. Although its experimental nature claims absolute objectivity but the human interpretation involved in making sense of the social world mainly includes a subjective analysis. Also, the agents of description already have a preconceived notion of what they intend to study, i.e. society. Thus a contradictory position to start with.
