I am a PhD in Geography (USA). I have worked with geography education in USA and India for a combined 30+ years. In India, I have been working with innovative geography education for school students and teachers, have helped prepare teaching aids for Karnataka state, and written geography chapters for Andhra Pradesh (now Telengana and AP) social science textbooks. I have conducted workshops in innovative geography education techniques for teachers and engaged students in geography workshops covering both traditional and non-traditional topics. My geography and EVS education involves making a lot of interesting connections. This encourages students to explore the subject and thus opens their minds to the usefulness and contextual meanings of what they study in their textbooks. I also write a weekly geography column in the Student Edition of Deccan Herald. I intend to take very few students so that I can provide quality tutoring.
