I was not passionate about fitness at first. A few years back, when I had initially signed up with Gold's gym, I was completely lost with the plethora of equipment and workouts. As I approached the gym's trainer(s) for assistance, I was left with the impression that the trainers were endorsing their supplements as a solution rather than giving me the information that I sought. It was then that I realised, that the only way I could bring about a sustainable change to myself, was to know why I was doing what I did, and to do it right. This endeavour led me to attain knowledge on exercising, nutrition and recovery which I started putting to practice. It came at a cost though: time and it wasn’t always easy as there was a lot of information out there treating each field as a separate science with conflicting schools of thought. It was during this period that I fell in love with fitness and also during this same time that I got myself a workout buddy where we spotted and motivated each other. After years of accumulating all this knowledge, I can say with confidence that I'm well equipped to coach / mentor anyone out there who is looking to achieve their fitness goals. My attributes of connecting well with people and motivating them to achieve their full potential, backed by a scientific approach gives me an edge. My journey continues with me now contemplating an accredited fitness certification, working towards achieving my fitness goals and opening a gym in the near future.
