I teach Mathematics to students from Class 6 and Class 7, and I have 1 year of teaching experience. I have always had a strong interest in Mathematics and enjoy helping students understand the subject in a simple and practical way. My aim as a tutor is to help students develop a strong foundation in Mathematics so that they can approach the subject with confidence rather than fear. I believe that when concepts are explained clearly and students are given enough practice, Mathematics can become much more enjoyable.
I have completed my Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), which has given me a strong academic foundation in Mathematics, logical reasoning, and problem-solving. My engineering background has also helped me develop a systematic approach to solving problems. I bring this approach into my classes by encouraging students to understand the logic behind a solution rather than simply memorising formulas or procedures.
A significant part of my teaching experience has also come from teaching my own son and supporting him in Mathematics up to Class 10. I worked with him patiently, explained concepts according to his understanding, and helped him overcome difficulties in the subject. He later completed his engineering and is now running a company in the industrial sector. This personal teaching experience gave me confidence in my ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and support students consistently throughout their academic journey.
My teaching methodology is structured and student-focused. I prepare a lesson plan for each class and introduce topics in a step-by-step manner so that students can follow the concepts without feeling overwhelmed. I begin by understanding the student's current level and identifying areas where they may need additional support. I then explain the topic using simple examples, work through problems with the student, and provide practice questions to strengthen their understanding.
I encourage students to ask questions freely and discuss any difficulties they face while solving problems. I believe that making mistakes is a natural part of learning Mathematics, so I create a comfortable environment where students can try different approaches and learn from their errors. Instead of focusing only on getting the correct answer, I pay attention to the student's method of solving a problem and help them improve their reasoning and problem-solving process.
I also regularly check the student's progress through practice questions, revision, and discussions. Based on their performance, I adjust my teaching approach and spend additional time on topics that require more attention. I use PowerPoint presentations and whiteboards during my online classes to make explanations more organised and interactive. These tools help me present formulas, examples, calculations, and problem-solving steps clearly.
My goal is to help students build a strong and lasting foundation in Mathematics. I want my students to become comfortable with numbers, formulas, calculations, and logical problem-solving while developing the confidence to attempt questions independently. Through structured lessons, regular practice, patient guidance, and individual attention, I aim to make Mathematics simpler, more interesting, and less intimidating for every student I teach.
