One of the most comfortable ways is to start writing down a few words every day, maybe as little as 5 or 10. Make a separate notebook for it. These words can be taken from your syllabus. Also, it would be an additional benefit for academic studies too.
Simultaneously read news articles and books. Reading is a must to develop English. When you read, try to recognise words and flag them while reading and take for that day's words list. With this routine, within a few months, you will find a recognisable improvement in vocabulary.
