Arvind Singh Rawat

I hold a strong interdisciplinary academic foundation with an undergraduate degree in science and a postgraduate degree in political science. I have successfully qualified for the UGC NET-JRF in Political Science (2019) and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Disaster Management (PGDDM) from IGNOU. My academic and professional journey reflects a deep engagement with issues at the intersection of governance, disaster management, socio-economic development, and regional politics, particularly with a focus on mountainous and disaster-prone regions.
I am also a part-time tutor in the Dr. Ambedkar Center of Excellence in H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand.

My areas of interest include the Indian political system, environmental politics, governance and judiciary, regional issues, and human trafficking, with a specific lens on disaster impact and recovery. I have hands-on experience in field data collection, survey design, and qualitative and quantitative research, and I have actively contributed to socio-economic impact assessments and migration studies in disaster-affected areas. I have published more than 6 research papers in esteemed journals and have written various popular articles for reputed newspapers.

My skills include using SPSS, MS Excel, and MS Office, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel. I have utilized these tools in data analysis, report writing, and policy documentation. My research work reflects a balanced integration of field-based evidence and secondary data analysis, contributing to a deeper understanding of disaster risk reduction (DRR) strategies and community-based resilience approaches.

I have also consistently participated in competitive examinations, qualifying for UPSC CDSE written (twice), RRB NTPC (all stages), UKPSC (three mains), SSC CGL, and Navy SSR, reflecting strong analytical and academic competence.

In addition to technical and research skills, I have a deep commitment to community engagement, especially with vulnerable populations in mountainous regions. My work emphasizes policy understanding, disaster mitigation, and social justice, aimed at promoting inclusive and sustainable development.
