P's present age is 20 years and Q's present age is 28 years.
Solution:
Given, P/Q = 5/7....(1)
and Q-(P+6)=2
So, Q=2+(P+6)
So, Q=P+8....(2)
Using (2) in (1)
So, P/Q=5/7
So, P/P+8=5/7
So, 7P=5P+40.....cross multiplication
So, 2P=40
So, P=20....Ans. 1
Now, using Ans. 1 in (1),
So, P/Q=5/7
So, 20/Q=5/7
So, 140=5Q
So, Q=140/5
So, Q=28...Ans. 2
