Shish Pal Chauhan

I am an experienced English teacher with around 30 years of experience in the field of education. I teach English to students from Classes 10 to 12, with a particular focus on English Literature and Spoken English. Over the course of my teaching career, I have worked with students at different learning levels and have helped them strengthen their language skills, improve their communication, and develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of literature.

I have completed my Master of Arts (M.A.) in English along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). My academic background has provided me with a strong foundation in English Literature, language education, and effective teaching methodologies. My qualifications, combined with several decades of experience in education, have helped me develop a practical understanding of how students learn and how complex language and literary concepts can be explained in a clear and accessible manner.

In addition to my teaching experience, I have worked as a school Principal, where I was responsible for academic leadership, student development, teacher guidance, and overall school administration. This leadership experience gave me a broader perspective on education and helped me understand the different factors that contribute to a student's academic and personal development. It also strengthened my ability to identify students' learning needs and support them through appropriate guidance.

When teaching English Literature, I focus on helping students understand the ideas, themes, characters, language, and context behind a literary work rather than simply memorising explanations. I encourage students to read carefully, think critically, and express their interpretations in their own words. For Spoken English, I focus on developing communication skills, confidence, vocabulary, pronunciation, and the ability to express thoughts clearly in everyday and academic situations.

My teaching methodology is structured and student-centred. I prepare a lesson plan for each class and introduce concepts through clear explanations before moving towards discussions, questions, and practical activities. I encourage students to participate actively rather than remain passive learners. Regular practice and feedback are important parts of my approach because they help students recognise their areas of improvement and gradually develop greater confidence in their abilities.

I use PPT presentations and a whiteboard to make my classes more organised and interactive. Depending on the topic, I use these tools to explain literary concepts, language structures, vocabulary, and other important aspects of English. I also encourage students to ask questions and share their thoughts during lessons. I believe that an open classroom environment allows students to become more comfortable with the language and develop their communication skills naturally.

I offer both online and offline classes and adapt my teaching approach according to the student's learning level, goals, and progress. With around three decades of experience in education and additional experience as a school Principal, I bring both classroom expertise and academic leadership experience to my teaching. My goal is to help students develop strong English language skills, improve their communication and confidence, understand literature more deeply, and perform effectively in their academic pursuits.
