SEO is not dependent on any platform as such. The only thing is WordPress is easy to manage as it has a lot of options of themes and plugins. Squarespace also has it's own features for SEO optimization.

Hi, Free themes are having limited options. Always go with premium themes like eleganthemes. But I prefer "Total Theme" it has full customized options. You can customize layout, page, header and footer etc.
