How can you hide the plugins and theme information you use on a WordPress site to prevent people from seeing the theme and plugins that you use?

You need to remove any reference to WordPress and the plugins from the publicly viewable source code or rewrite their output to obfuscate them. That applies to the files referenced in the source code too, such as CSS files and Javascript files. You would also need to rewrite the HTML tag IDs and classes to hide hints to the software in use. That means you would need to rewrite any CSS that applies to those classes and IDs, ditto for Javascript/JQuery. Remember that plugin, theme and core WP updates could undo your changes. You could buffer all page output (inc. external files) with ob_start(), perform the rewrites with regexes then send the file to screen. This would be resource hungry but would make obfuscation of source code fingerprints easier to perform. What you want to do is possible but not necessarily practical. read less

I suggest you to use this plugin WP Hide & Security Enhancer, take a backup before running this plugin, other way is to add Disallow: /wp-content/plugin/ in robots.txt
