Vedic maths shall be introduced to the children at the time we are teaching them addition, subtraction, multiplication, division for the first time, since its the same time they are learning the languages. It shall be effective because most of the Indian languages are read\written from left to right and vedic maths explains the basic mathematical operations from left to right hence enabling the student to interpret maths similar to languages. However some languages like urdu are read\written right to left hence for kids learning urdu regular method of doing mathematical operations from right to left shall be more useful. Also I feel that the students who are already comfortable with right to left maths should not be burdened with vedic maths, also its a myth that calculations using vedic maths are faster, even using the regular maths with some smart algebra tricks we can perform calculations at a speed as fast as Vedic maths.Government to should keep in mind these things before blindly making vedic maths as part of curriculum. read less

If you check CBSE Class 8th Mathematics Text book. They have concepts that make use of Vedic Maths Methods. Ministry of HRD and Those who develop curriculum for CBSE already worked on this.

Its good thing to introduce in school education. Because we need to search where we lost our famous vedic math. This enables children to learn mathematical skills without feeling bore.
