Hello! I am a trained Kathak dancer and an experienced Kathak teacher with over 13 years of Kathak learning and more than 5 years of teaching experience. I teach Kathak to beginners as well as students preparing for structured examinations.
My teaching includes practical Kathak training along with theory, covering basic techniques, footwork, hand movements, expressions, taal, compositions and repertoire. I also teach Thumri, Bhajan and other aspects of Kathak to help students develop both their technical skills and artistic expression.
I have experience preparing students for Prayag Sangeet Samiti examinations from Praveshika to the 6th year, including both theory and practical examinations. I also guide students for stage performances, dance dramas and choreographies, including Bengali folk dance when required for cultural programmes.
My teaching approach is patient, structured and adapted according to the student's age, level and learning pace. I focus on building strong fundamentals while helping students develop confidence, expressions and performance skills.
