Piyush Kumar

I am a Kathak trainer and Kathak Theory educator with over six years of training in the Banaras Gharana under the guidance of Pandit Ravi Shankar Mishra. I specialize in teaching Kathak to students of all age groups, from beginners to advanced learners, with a strong focus on technique, rhythm (tala), abhinaya, choreography, and performance skills.

In addition to practical dance training, I teach Kathak theory, including the history and evolution of Kathak, gharanas, Natyashastra, tala and laya, abhinaya, hasta mudras, costume and aesthetics, stage presentation, and the cultural and philosophical foundations of the dance form. My teaching approach combines discipline, creativity, and cultural awareness to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience.

I have conducted workshops and cultural awareness sessions in schools and educational institutions and have performed at various prestigious cultural events. I am passionate about preserving and promoting the rich tradition of Kathak while creating an engaging, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for students.
