Loosing confidence is common thing.. when you prepare UPSC.. only way to gain confidence is keep studying daily, do answer writing practice at least 1 hour a day...keep yourself away from distractions like mobile phone,relatives, functions etc

what are the basic time preparation for ias ??
It depends on the schedule you are comfortable with. On an average 8 hours daily for 6 months can help you befriend with the subjects concerned. A good mentor is also required throughout.
