Which is preferred more by the Canadian Universities: IELTS or TOEFL? Why?

Most Candaian universities prefer IELTS, though TOEFL is accepted in many universities as well. The most common requirement for SDS-listed colleges is an overallIELTS score of 6.5, with no less than 6 bands in IELTS for Canada. However, the TOEFL and IELTS band for Canada requirements change from program to program, such as Graduate, Undergraduate and specialized courses. Most Universities in Canada require IELTS as proof of English language proficiency for the Master’s program. Both IELTS and TOEFL are widely accepted all over the country by all the Universities, but IELTS is generally preferred. The average requirement is 6.5 bands overall, with no less than 6.0 in each module. read less
