My career in education spans 36 years from 1978 to 2014. I started teaching English for 4th-grade students at Holy Angels Convent, Trivandrum, where I myself had my schooling. From there on, I have climbed the ladder of my career teaching the primary, secondary and higher secondary classes, finally holding the position of Principal for over 10 years. I have had the honour of working at several highly sought-after schools in Coimbatore, some which are Bharathi M.H.S.S., G.D. M.H.S.S., Amrita Vidyalayam H.S.S. and Chinmaya Vidyalaya H.S.S.

If my 36-year career has taught me anything, it is that each child is unique and faces unique learning difficulties that need to be tackled in unique ways. I have spent my life understanding and solving the difficulties of the children I have taught, and I am proud to say that I have become a better teacher for it. My passion for teaching and love for children was one of the reasons why I continued to teach even while holding the position of Principal; it is also why I continued to teach even after my retirement and also why I will not let Covid-19 stop me. I am now starting to teach online and look forward to reaching and teaching even more students.

"Me and my Nephew is taking tution of English from Mrs. Hema Ramkumar. We really are contented with the way she teaches him. I personally have observed that her teaching is not limited to book , but every topic she picks includes examples and practical explanations which is making my nephew to understand much better. She understand which are the areas where a child needs improvement and plan accordingly for that child which is commendable. And lastly , she is approachable and very flexible too. She listens and understand what other’s need. She plans activities to make the learning more interesting. This I have only observed in International curriculum which is a very excellent.
