Sathish Kumar

I am a Ph.D. researcher in Environmental Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, specializing in Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Google Earth Engine (GEE), Machine Learning applications, watershed management, soil erosion assessment, drought analysis, and environmental modeling. Alongside my research, I have served as an Assistant Professor for 2 years, teaching undergraduate engineering students and mentoring them in both theoretical concepts and practical applications.

My teaching expertise includes Environmental Engineering, Engineering Geology, GIS, Remote Sensing, Hydrology, Watershed Management, Disaster Management, and geospatial data analysis. I also provide hands-on training in QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine, Python for GIS, and research data analysis.

I have guided students in academic projects, thesis work, research methodology, and scientific manuscript preparation. My approach emphasizes conceptual understanding, practical problem-solving, and industry-relevant skills through real-world case studies and software-based demonstrations. I strive to make complex technical topics easy to understand while helping students build confidence in applying them to academics, research, and professional careers.
