Teaching Experience in detail in Vocal Music classes
Vanakkam 🙏 I am Mrs.Jothi Balakrishnan, a passionate Carnatic Vocal Music teacher with an MFA in Vocal Music and Teacher Training in Music. I have several years of experience teaching students of different ages and skill levels. Through my music academy, I offer structured and personalised Carnatic Vocal classes for children, teenagers and adults — from complete beginners to advanced learners. 🎶 WHAT I TEACH • Basic Carnatic Vocal training • Sarali Varisai • Janta Varisai • Alankaram • Geethams • Swarajathis • Varnams • Keerthanams • Bhajans and devotional songs • Raga understanding • Manodharma basics • Voice culture and shruti alignment • Tala and rhythm practice 🌍 ONLINE CLASSES Classes are conducted online through live one-to-one sessions, making it convenient for students living in India and abroad. I can also offer flexible timings for students in different time zones. 👧 FOR CHILDREN I teach children in a friendly, patient and encouraging way. Lessons are planned according to the child's age, level and learning speed, with regular practice guidance. 🎤 FOR ADULTS It is never too late to begin learning Carnatic music. Adults who are completely new to music are also welcome. ✨ MY TEACHING APPROACH My aim is not only to teach songs, but to help students understand the beauty and structure of Carnatic music. Each lesson includes proper guidance in: • Shruti • Swara • Tala • Pronunciation • Voice control • Listening • Regular practice Students receive step-by-step guidance and practice material so that they can learn confidently from home. 🎁 DEMO CLASS I offer a friendly introductory demo class where I understand the student's musical background and introduce them to the basics of Carnatic vocal music. If you or your child would like to begin a beautiful musical journey, I would be happy to guide you. Let us learn, practise and enjoy the divine beauty of Carnatic music together. 🎶 Warm regards, Jothi Balakrishnan Carnatic Vocal Music Teacher
