Shailesh Kapdi

I am a postgraduate marketing professional. I am an alumni of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Manegment Studies. I quit my job as GM National Head Sales and started freelancing. In my professional life, I came across many candidates coming from vernacular schooling who, despite being talented were denied opportunities because of lack of confidence. The reason for which was that they unable to communicate properly in English. In 2009 I took up the responsibility of polishing 2 talented candidates who were rejected by our panel in an interview. I had 7 sessions with them in basic communication skills and language training. It helped them a lot and they ended up landing good jobs. It gave me immense satisfaction an then I continued this as a mission to spare at least 5 hours per week to ensure that such candidates get that first chance to prove them self in the field.
My hobby is now my part-time profession and many people have benefitted from it. If you think that spoken English is a barrier in your progress and is a cause for low self esteem, don't worry, after all it is just another language and can be mastered by everybody. All it takes is just a few hours of concentrated effort in the right direction.
