I am Jayanandan Chethana, a qualified Music Educator with MA in Music (University of Calicut) and Grade 8 Keyboard certification from Trinity College London. I have 26 years of teaching experience, including 20 years of offline & 10 years of online teaching for students in India, USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Gulf countries.
Apart from teaching, I am also a performing and composing musician. I sing, compose music and work in orchestration and music programming.
What I Teach: Carnatic Vocal, Western Keyboard/Piano,Carnatic Keyboard, and Carnatic Harmonium for all age groups (Kids 5+ yrs, Adults, Seniors) from Beginner to Advanced level.
My aim is to help students develop strong musical fundamentals, confidence, creativity and practical performance skills with a strong foundation in Shruthi, Thalam and Raga. I provide systematic lessons with practice notes and recordings.
Classes are conducted through Google Meet or Zoom.

I have extensive experience in teaching Carnatic Vocal Music for over 10 years, specializing in both beginner and advanced levels. I teach traditional Carnatic lessons including Sarali Varisai, Janta Varisai, Alankaram, Geetham, Swarajathi, Varnam and Keerthanam with proper focus on Shruthi, Laya and Bhava. I provide structured classes for children from age 5 onwards and adults, including tailored lessons for those interested in light music and devotional songs based on Carnatic fundamentals. Classes are available at my home in Thrissur/Kunnamkulam/Eyyal, at student's home nearby, and Live Online via Zoom/Google Meet for students across Kerala and outside. I have trained many students for school youth festivals, competitions and temple programs. My teaching method is patient, systematic and focused on building strong classical base while making learning enjoyable.
