Tableau Desktop : To develop and publish the dashboards and datasets Tableay Server : It's a place where we publish the dashboards and share it with clients or end users Consider this like a web page with an url. where we publish the dashboard on to server and this can be accessed by an URL, also server is a place where most of the user level and report level administration and security is handled Hope this helps!!
